Donald "Don" Edward Arduino,
of Mansfield, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at the age of 70, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Brenda (Bilski) Arduino and the proud father of his children Bill Arduino and his wife Janine and daughter Sheryl Arduino. He was also the proud and loving grandfather of Nathan, Jillian and Kaitlin.
Don was born in Needham, MA on December 22, 1947.
Don is survived by his mother Thelma (Donati) Arduino. He is also survived by his brother Steven and fiancé Patty Mello, and sister Karen Pucel. Loving son-in-law of Antonina Bilski and brother-in-law of Carole & Dennis Kreutzer. He is predeceased by his father William Francis Arduino and brother-in-law Robert Pucel. Also loving Uncle of Susan, Mike, Jeff, Nick & John.
He graduated from Newton North Technical High School in 1965 and went on to proudly serve his country in the Navy. He was stationed in Virginia, Puerto Rico, and aboard the USS Saratoga. He received his Associates Degree from Fisher College and Bachelor's Degree from Johnson & Wales.
Don was a Quality Assurance Engineer, retiring from General Dynamics in 2011 after 29 years. He especially enjoyed his part-time retirement job at Lowe's in Plainville before becoming ill.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Don had many talents and hobbies, including computers, electronics, woodworking, gardening and boating. He enjoyed old movies and was a science fiction fan, as well as an avid collector of many things.
Calling hours will be held at the Bolea–Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St., Mansfield on Thursday, February 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services and burial will be held privately at a later date at the VA National Cemetery Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's memory for his daughter's ride in the 2018 Pan Mass Challenge supporting Dana Farber (profile.pmc.org/SA0166) or to the Attleboro Community VNA Hospice Care.
