Steven DiBona

Steven DiBona, 65, of Quincy, MA, passed away at home on Wedesday, September 27, 2017. Born and raised in Quincy, he was a 1970 graduate of Quincy high School. He received his Bachelors of Science in Marine & Micro Biology from Southeastern Massachusetts University, continuing his education at University of New Hampshire where he also taught classes.

Steve spent many years at sea working on lobster boats and as a carpenter before completing his professional career as a Protocol Writer for the Biotech Company Lanza in their New Hampshire facility.

Steve was an accomplished jazz guitarist and played in several bands in the area. He was an avid reader, had a natural talent in wood working and was a licensed gun collector and a member of the NRA. A true outdoors man, he especially loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a great story teller.

Preceded in death by his father, Edward, and best friend/dog, Ripley. Survived by his mother, Donata and brother Michael of Quincy, nephew Anthony DiBona of Abington, niece Andrea Lotusso and three great nieces, Anora, Regina and Julianna Lorusso of Quincy. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Wednesday, October 4th at 11:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Calling hours will be held from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home 116 Franklin St Quincy on Tuesday, October 3rd from 4 to 7 pm.
