Eugene F. ("Geno") Walsh,
age 83, a lifelong Weymouth resident, died peacefully Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Harbor House Rehabilitation Center in Hingham. He was the beloved husband of fifty-nine years to Mary T. (Mascioli) Walsh, devoted and loving father of Daniel E. Walsh and his wife Ann Marie of Weymouth, the late Denise A. Walsh, and Janice A.(Walsh) Webb and her husband John of Kingston.
Geno was born in Weymouth to the late Edward Walsh and Eugenie(Hurley) Walsh. He was the loving brother of Eleanor (Walsh) Steele, the late Edward Walsh, Claire (Walsh) Donovan and Marjorie (Walsh) Brown.
Raised and educated in Weymouth, Geno was a genuinely joyful guy who yearned to make those around him happy and loved going to Dunkin Donuts on route 18 in Weymouth. He worked as a pipe fitter at General Dynamics in Quincy and retired as a security guard at Raytheon in 1999. Geno was a corporal in the National Guard during the Korea conflict.
He was the loving and cherished Grampy of Danielle M. Walsh and her fiancée Gregory E. Brownstein of San Francisco, Stephanie King of Marshfield, Kelsie A. Walsh of Watertown, Justin D. Walsh of Weymouth,and Marykate and Meghan E. Webb of Kingston. Geno is also survived by his many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Tuesday, August 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Moore Church, 7 Hawthorne Road, Braintree on Wednesday, August 9th at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
