Marjorie (Murphy) Porfido, 75, died peacefully on Thursday, August 3rd 2017 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Marjorie leaves her loving and devoted husband Thomas Porfido of Thornton, New Hampshire; her two daughters Kara Foster and husband John of Taunton, Leah Caracino and husband Ed from Blackstone; two grandchildren, Karly and Kenzie Foster; sisters Eileen Lojko and Mary Roberts; sister-in-law, Arlene Macaione; two "granddogs," Kayly and Jedi and many nieces, cousins, and friends.

Born in Brockton, on August 15, 1942, to Albert J. Murphy and Mary (Evans) Murphy. Marjorie was raised in Putnam, CT where she graduated from Putnam High School. She later graduated from Stonehill College with a BA in Mathematics.

She married Tom, the love of her life, in 1966. After settling down in Mansfield she worked as a math teacher in Foxboro, Mansfield, and Bridgewater schools. She was also a certified realtor with Christian and Schromm Real Estate. Later on in life she went back to college to earn a degree as an ultrasonographer, and worked at Tri-River Clinic.

Marjorie enjoyed going on yearly ski trips all over the Alps. She was an avid skier, hiker, walker and reader and found great joy in taking care of her two grandchildren. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved slinging innuendos. She retired to NH where she belonged to the Silver Streaks ski club.

Funeral will be held at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main Street, Mansfield on Monday, August 7th at 10:00 am. Funeral mass to follow at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St (Rte.106), Mansfield at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 6th from 4 to 7 pm.
