John Rose, Jr.,
of Norton, formerly of Mansfield, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center of Brockton on November 11, 2016. He was 70 years old. Born in Attleboro, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Booth) Rose.
John was raised in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School and attended college in both Virginia and Connecticut.
Employed as an insurance adjuster and realtor for many years, John was known as a violinist and conductor having played and conducted with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra. He was also a collector and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Soldat and her husband Vic of Norton; a nephew, Michael J. Soldat; a great niece and nephew, Kevin and Marissa Donahue; a sister-in-law, Verna Rose. He was also brother of the late Arthur Rose and uncle to the late Jill Marie Rose and Cindy Lee Rose.
Private funeral services were held by the family.
