Amelia L. (Marinelli) DeSantis, lifelong resident of Quincy, wife of the late John P. DeSantis, died at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was 93.

Born in Quincy on April 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Berardina (D’Allessandro) Marinelli. She was a graduate of Quincy High School.

Amelia was employed as a librarian for over forty years at the Thomas Crane Library in Quincy.

She was the loving mother of John P. DeSantis, Jr. of Pembroke and Joan D. Ternan and her husband Jack, Sr. of Texas; Grandmother of Jack, Jr. and his wife Ashley, Daniel and his wife Shannon, Thomas and his wife Rachel, and David Ternan - all of Texas. Also survived by four great-grandchildren. Amelia was also the sister of the late Anthony, Leonard, Emilio, Mary, Rocco, Phyllis and Dominic.

Funeral mass will be held at St. John Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Tuesday, September 13th at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St.! Quincy on Monday, September 12th from 4 to 8 pm. Burial at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
