Mary E. (Wermers) Gardner,
82, of Mansfield, died peacefully on August 26th surrounded by her family. Mary was the loving daughter of the late John and Mildred (O’Connell) Wermers and grew up in Dorchester. She was the devoted wife of sixty-two years to Robert E. Gardner. They settled in Sharon where they raised their three daughters. She was a long-time employee of the Donut Kettle in Foxboro. She loved spending time at home with her family and friends.
Mary was the loving mother of Maryellen and her husband Ken Fallon of Mansfield, Nancy and her husband Richard Sloggett of Lutz, FL, and Beth and her husband Peter Souza of Mansfield. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jeff and Kim Sloggett, Kevin and Lindsay Sloggett, Kenny Fallon, Kate (Fallon) and Chris Comeau, and Danny Souza. Mary had two great-grandchildren that she absolutely adored Zoey Laur and Connor Sloggett. She also had many nieces and nephews.
Mary was the sister of the late Katherine Fink, Sister Jane Elizabeth O’Connell, Anne Barrett, Jean Levesque, Mildred Cull, and Jack Wermers.
Funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Rte. 106) Mansfield on Wednesday August 31st at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 No. Main Street, Mansfield are on Tuesday, August 30th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial is at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon.
