William G. Springer,
of West Wareham, formerly of Norton, died peacefully surrounded by his family at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after complications due to hip surgery on August 13, 2016. He was 68. William was the husband of Marilyn J. (Spiezio) Springer. Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Winston G. and Dorothea (Burley) Springer.
William was raised in Fall River and graduated from Durfee High School in 1968. For forty years he was employed in sales and marketing for building materials. He was an avid sports fan as well as an avid golfer. William also played semi football as a place kicker for the Tri Attleboro Kings.
Besides his wife Marilyn of the last thirty nine years he is survived by a son, Jason G. Springer and his girlfriend Stephanie Chiarenza of Medford; two brothers, Robert G. Springer of Lakeland, FL and David B. Springer of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Jane M. Gould of Hyannis; his beloved dog Maggie Mae and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 11 am in the Bolea – Amici Funeral Home 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial private at a later date. Marilyn has asked instead of flowers if you could please make a donation in William’s name to the Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor Brookline, MA 02445.
