Eleanor M. (Santosuosso) Dawkins,
92, of Cave Creek, Arizona, formerly of Quincy, died August 4th at her home in Cave Creek, AZ. Born in So Weymouth, she was raised in Quincy, where she resided until 2000 when she moved to Arizona to live with her daughter.
An adored wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Eleanor was the consummate homemaker and cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends; her Caesar Salad was legendary! She loved to play bingo and trips to Vegas with “the girls,” were some of her favorite times. We could leave her at her favorite slot machine and return three hours later and she’d still be playing with her original $20 and be ahead by $200!
Eleanor was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Monte L. Dawkins, her infant daughter Sandra Dawkins, her three beloved brothers, Frank, Louis, and John Santosuosso, and her two beloved sisters, Julia Alongi and Cleta Tassinary. Eleanor is survived by her son Michael Dawkins and his wife Linda of Bayfield, CO, and her daughter Diane Tinker and her husband Glen, of Cave Creek, AZ. Dear grandmother of Sean Dawkins and his wife Keni of Saugus, CA, Cole Tinker of Scottsdale, AZ, and Perry Tinker of Cave Creek, AZ. Great-grandmother of Kailyn and Brady Dawkins of Saugus, CA.
Eleanor was a favorite aunt, loved by numerous nieces and nephews and who she loved right back. She was honored to be called “Mom,” “Mrs. D,” and “Nana,” by so many more members of her “heart family.”
Her funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy on Saturday, August 13th at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
The family of Eleanor would like to invite family and friends to rejoin them at the Fox and Hound Restaurant 125 Sea St. Quincy after her funeral.
