Richard F. Donovan,
of Quincy, died at the South Shore Hospital on June 21, 2016. He was 70. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Herbert and Dorothy (Riley) Donovan.
Richard grew up in South Boston and was a graduate of Hyde Park High school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by the Boston Gas Company for thirty three years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and was named man of the year from the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Quincy. Richard enjoyed fishing and time spent with his family.
His survivors include four sons, Brian Donovan, Kevin Donovan and his wife Maryanne, Edward Donovan and Joseph Donovan and his wife Tiffany; a brother, Daniel Donovan; six grandchildren, Steven, Patrick, Hunter, Collin, Eamon and Alec. He was also the father of the late Michael Donovan.
Funeral will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 20 Sea Street, Quincy on Wednesday, June 29th at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at the Mass VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation will be held prior to the mass at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy from 9 to 10:30 am.
