Michael E. DiRamio,
of Weymouth, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 26th. He was 54. Born in Quincy on January 29, 1962, he was the son of Irma (Salvatore) DiRamio of Weymouth and the late Eugene C. DiRamio (Lieutenant Quincy Fire Department).
Michael was raised in Weymouth. He graduated from Weymouth South High School in 1980, Suffolk University of Boston with bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1984 and then furthering his education, graduating from Brown University with a master’s degree and an ABD.
Michael was formerly employed as a Philosophy Instructor and Senior Lecturer from 1991 to 2011 at Northeastern University. He was well known with his skills in Hypnotism. He ran various smoking cessation program’s funded by the Mass Dept. of Public Health from 2000 - 02. Michael also volunteered his time with hypnotism work and was a member of the National Guild of Hypnotist. He made several presentations at the annual hypnosis convention.
Besides his mother, his survivors include a brother, Brian W. DiRamio and his wife Deborah of Weymouth and Providence, RI, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral mass at St. John’s Church, School Street, Quincy on Thursday, June 2nd at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Bolea – Buonfiglio Funeral Home 116 Franklin St. Quincy on Wednesday June 1st from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be private at a later date.
