Dorothy "Dot" Evelyn Acosta,
an LPN and a resident of Mansfield, MA, died unexpectedly at her home on April 30, 2016 at the age of 32.
Dot leaves behind her children Anthony & Ariana; her loving husband Jonathan Acosta of Foxboro; her mother Michelle Schmitka of Mansfield; her father Brian Barnes of New Bedford; her brothers Brian and Andrew Schmitka of Mansfield; her maternal grandfather Anthony Schmitka Sr.; her mother-in-law, Claudia Acosta. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother Dorothy Schmitka & paternal grandparents Shelba & Edson Barnes of Weymouth. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dot was born in Weymouth, MA on July 18, 1983. She grew up in Mansfield where she graduated High School in 2001. Dot welcomed her first child Anthony the same year to whom she was a devoted mother. Dot married her High School sweetheart Jonathan on March 25, 2009 and they welcomed a baby girl Ariana on March 3, 2010.
Dot was most recently employed as an LPN at Maples Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham. She completed the LPN-RN program in 2014 through Massasoit Community College.
Dot's children were the most important part of her life. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her genuine personality, bright smile, and laughter will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to Visiting hours at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home 115 North Main Street Mansfield on Thursday May 5th from 5 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation to follow.
