Erica M. (Staszak) Bliss,
of Mansfield, wife of Timothy C. Bliss, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was 41 years old. Born in Buffalo, New York, she was the beloved daughter of James R. and Deborah A. (Cukierski) Staszak of Clarence, New York. Erica was a graduate of Nardin Academy in Buffalo, New York and she received her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University located in Boston Massachusetts.
Erica worked as a physical therapist at Mansfield Physical Therapy and Community VNA in Attleboro. She was a sports enthusiast and she enjoyed coaching both youth hockey, basketball, and soccer. Erica coached for the Bridgewater Bandits, Boston Junior Eagles, and Boston Junior Terriers boys youth hockey teams. In 2014, the Junior Eagles team was able to participate in the Tier II National Tournament. Erica also volunteered her time with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp, Our Daily Bread food pantry, and the Pine Street Inn. She was also a past member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by "her" twin boys, Cameron and Michael Castro of Mansfield, a sister, Angela M. Staszak of Clarence, NY, her in-laws, June and Fairis Bliss of Easton, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her four legged companions, Great Danes Goliath and Wolfie.
Erica's wake will be held at the Bolea Amici Funeral Home located at 115 North Main Street in Mansfield. Calling hours Monday, April 18th will be between the hours of 4 and 8pm. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church located at 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) in Mansfield on Tuesday, April 19 at 11am. Please assemble at the church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Erica's burial will be private.
