Judith M. "Judy" (Hewitt) Melfie,
of Norton, formerly of Mansfield passed away Friday March 11 at home. She was 68 years old and the beloved wife of Harry D. Melfie for 50 years.
Born in Brockton on September 9, 1947, she was the loving daughter of the late James & Marjorie (O’Neil) Hewitt. Mrs. Melfie was raised and educated in Foxboro and was a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island.
She worked for Fuller Box Co. of N. Attleboro and retired in 2001 from Maples Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham after 15 years of service as a CNA. She was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed arts & crafts, trips to Foxwoods, Las Vegas & VA and cherished time with her family and grandchildren. She held a special place in her heart as well for Casey & Shannon, her late Golden Retrievers.
Mrs. Melfie was the loving mother of Joanne M. Allard of Attleboro, James M. Melfie-Chief Master Sgt. USAF of Yorktown, VA and Brian J. Melfie of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Brian Melfie, Jennifer Melfie, Danielle Melfie, Kerrin Allard, Kimberly Melfie, Kelli Allard, James Melfie and the dear sister of the late James Hewitt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield on Wednesday March 16 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-8pm. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
