Russell Corsini Sr.,
of Braintree passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 81 years old and the devoted husband of the late Dalia (Pellegrini) Corsini.
Russell was born on March 15, 1934 in Quincy to the late Dr. T Vincent and Lena (Borgatti) Corsini. After graduating from Tufts University he spent 2 years in the Army as a Medic and went on to work as a Polymer Rubber Chemist. He is best known for inventing rubber cleats during his employment with Converse.
Russell was the loving father of Russell Corsini Jr. & his wife Tricia, Diane Keefe & her husband Ed, Paul Corsini & his wife Charlaine and Susan MacIntyre & her husband John. He was an amazing grandfather to Russell III, Nicholas, Brianna, Vanessa, Benjamin, Jessica, Christopher, Isabella, Gabby, Dalia, Max, Francesca, Mia, Samantha, Duncan, Liam, Dale, Carmella and Andrew. He is also survived by his sister Marie Petrell, brother T Vincent Corsini & his wife Doris, brother in law Robert Marini & his wife Anne and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Tuesday March 15 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street in Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
