formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30th in Wrentham. He was 94 years old and the beloved husband of the late Carmella “Millie” (DiNenna) Tamasco.
Mr. Tamasco was Born and raised in East Boston, proudly served in the US Army during World War II and was a past President and lifetime member of the Quincy Sons of Italy, Lodge #1295. After retiring from a forty-year career as a camera operator in the lithography business, he spent several years working as a Greeter at Brookstone. He later moved from Quincy to the Forge Hill Senior Living Community in Franklin where he resided for nearly a decade before moving to Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham.
Mr. Tamasco was the loving father of Nick and his wife Terry of Wrentham. He was the dear grandfather of Lisa Flynn and her husband Peter and Christina Tamasco all of Marshfield and Kimberly, Shaun and Mikaela Callahan. John is lovingly survived by his two great-grandsons Daniel Reck and Peter Flynn III.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 2 at 11am at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street in Quincy. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Tamasco’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
