Dorothy Rose (Salvi) Cherubini,
formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully at her Naples, FL home on Monday, January 11th surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old and the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Cherubini for 67 years.
Born in Somerville on May 3, 1924, she was the loving daughter of the late Peter & Mary (Zermani) Salvi. Mrs. Cherubini was a graduate of Trinity College prior to meeting the love of her life. Together they raised a family in their beautiful home in Milton where friends & family would gather for their infamous Christmas Eve parties. They later moved to Naples, Fl. to spend their golden years and travel the world extensively. Dorothy was fiercely proud of and loved her entire family.
Mrs. Cherubini was the loving & devoted mother of Mary Jay Cherubini of Hanover, Robert W. Cherubini & his wife Virginia (Jones) of Marshfield, Peter J. Cherubini & his wife Joanne (Falzone) of Weymouth, Barbara A. Johannesen & her husband Arthur of Scituate, Dorothy R. Shawkey & her husband Michael of Rockland, the late Carl D. Cherubini and mother in law of Marion (Harlemert) Cherubini of Marshfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Jason C. Cherubini, Elizabeth Nelson, Kristen M. Collins, Matthew Johannesen, Peter S. Cherubini, Adam R. Cherubini, Carly R. Shawkey and great-grandmother of Ryan, Owen and Haley Collins.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Jerome’s Church, 632 Bridge Street, Weymouth on Saturday January 16 at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
