Peter P. Gacicia,
of Hingham, formerly of Quincy, died Monday, November 30th, at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 90 years old. Mr. Gacicia was the loving husband of Norma (DiTullio) Gacicia for 66 years.
Born in Quincy on December 11, 1924, Mr. Gacicia was one of twelve children of the late Peter and Anna (Rinella) Gacicia. He was raised and educated in Quincy and proudly served in the US NAVY during WWII. After the war, Mr. Gacicia graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and worked for many years as an independent insurance agent in the Quincy area. He was a member of the Quincy Sons of Italy, a chairman for the Quincy Republican Committee and for the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Mr. Gacicia was also active in Quincy and National Politics.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gacicia is survived by his three children, Susan Wilbur and her husband Calvin, Peter P. Gacicia, III and his wife Penny and Alan P. Gacicia and his wife Terese. He was the loving grandfather of Meaghan, Bryan, Brendan, Samuel, Benjamin, Lily, Nicholas, Jonathan and Victoria. Mr. Gacicia is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Friday, December 4 at 9am. Followed by a funeral Mass in St. John's Church, 44 School St., Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday Dec. 3 from 4-8pm. Interment in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
