Dominic J. DeThomaso,
of Weymouth, passed away peacefully Friday, October 30th at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 73 years old and the beloved husband of Dianne (Gillis) DeThomaso for 51 years.
Born in Quincy on September 3, 1942, he was the loving son of the late Rocco & Helen A. (Chiavaroli) DeThomaso.
Dom was the Co-owner & Operator of Rocco & Sons Barbershop in Quincy for many years. He was a long time member of the Braintree Sons of Italy, enjoyed coaching Little League and trips to Foxwoods or Twin Rivers, was an avid Patriots Fan and cherished time with his “boys” grandchildren Devin, Ryan, Adam & Christian “Buzzy”.
Mr. DeThomaso was the loving father of Steven & his companion Kristin Davis of Largo, FL, Dari & her husband Jason Murphy of Hanover, the late Mark DeThomaso and father in law of Bernice DeThomaso of Hull. He was the dear brother of Richard, Danny and the late Nicky & Robert.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street in Quincy on Wednesday November 4 at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dom’s memory to a Children’s Charity of your choice or the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridgepark Drive, Cambridge, MA 02140.
