Albert Decele

Albert Decele, 90, of Norton, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed peacefully on October 4, 2015 in Norton. Born in Avon, August 17, 1925 he was the son of the late Laura Lavigne and Joseph Decele.

Albert was raised in Avon, he attended Avon and Brockton schools, and inducted into the Navy in 1943. He served in US NAS Quonset Point, Rhode Island. While in the Navy he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. He worked in the Chocolate Factory in Mansfield and retired from Foxboro Company in 1984.

He was married to Margaret Tartufo from June 5, 1954 until she passed in May 1983, Rose Pizza Figueiredo from 1985 until she passed in February 1987, Marie R. Newman from 1991 until she passed in July 1993. He was a devoted loving family man. Albert was a lifelong Catholic with a strong devotion to St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.

He is survived by his children, Linda Newman, Raymond Newman, Barbara Morrissey and husband Dennis, Rose Ruel and husband Peter, Michael Figueiredo and significant other Dee, Diane Bosak, Teresa Jasinski and husband Darek, Christine Dinesen and husband Scott. Grandchildren Glen Bauer Jr. and Raymond Bauer, and several grandsons and granddaughter.

He was the brother of Rita Decele Crocker and Rosella Decele Pickard, and the late Esther Decele Knight, Cecilia Decele Stetson, Juliette Decele Dow, Beatrice Decele Shea. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday October 7, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home 115 N. Main St. Mansfield. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Rte.106) Mansfield on Thursday October 8, 2015 at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
