Stephen M. Gannon, Sr.,
62, of Mansfield, died on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro surrounded by his family and friends after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Cutillo) Gannon for thirty-three years.
Born in Colchester, VT on October 21, 1952, he was the son of the late George Henry Gannon, II and Maryjane (Keating) Gannon. Stephen was a graduate of Franklin High School. He was a longtime employee of the Foxboro Co and most recently was employed by Jaco INC of Franklin.
Stephen battled a longtime illness throughout his life, especially for the last six years; but never missed the opportunities to attend his son’s sporting events throughout his High School and College years. An avid golfer, fisherman and Boston sports fan. He also enjoyed the companionship of his dog Ollie.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Stephen M. Gannon, Jr.; his step-mother, Barbara A. Gannon of Franklin; five brothers, George H. Gannon, III, Jim P. Gurganus, Joseph Gannon, Steven Gannon, Jeffrey Gannon and Michael Gannon; three sisters, Kathleen Sanders, Susan Doyle and Susan Gannon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his best friend Ralph Woodhams. He was also brother of the late Debra Gosselin.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106), Mansfield on Saturday, October 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 2nd in the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield from 4 to 8 p.m.
