Brendan George Thomas,
27, of Norwich, CT (formerly of Mansfield, MA), was taken from his family and friends on August 11, 2015 due to a motorcycle accident in Montville, CT.
Brendan was born on December 21, 1987. He was the cherished son of Karen (Madden) Thomas of Milton, MA & Mark J. Thomas of Palm Harbor, FL, brother of Marc E. Thomas & his fiancé Jill Landry. He was also the loving uncle of niece Victoria Thomas of Westport, MA. He was also the beloved stepson of Judy Thomas of Palm Harbor, FL and grandson to Floreen (Lovee) Thomas of Norwood, MA.
He is also survived by his fiancé and business partner Lauren Nadwairski of Norwich, CT and stepsister Rachel Madeiros of Palm Harbor, FL as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Addison Leigh Thomas, stepbrother Ryan Medeiros, paternal grandfather George (“Tiger’) Thomas of Norwood and maternal grandparents Edward and Anne Bosy of Milton.
Brendan attended Blessed Sacrament School of Walpole, MA and graduated High School from the Grove School of Madison, CT. He also attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Brendan loved his family and friends with every fiber of his being, and cherished his life with Lauren.
His passions in life included York Beach, ME, extreme sports, motorcycles, and fitness. Since 2007 he worked as a Certified Personal Trainer & Fitness instructor based in Norwich, CT. He and Lauren founded & operated their business, Tiger Strength Performance.
Brendan’s vision for the future was to bring his talents into a non-profit, afterschool programs designed to invest time and energy into our youth to help them stay focused and reach their athletic dreams and add the right balance to structure their time between academics and athletics.
Brendan often quoted: “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength. Don’t make excuses, make results.”
For those who knew and loved Brendan, they know his life’s struggles make this quote a true representation of the legacy he leaves us with.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 151 North Main Street, Mansfield, MA on Thursday, August 20 from 2-8 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, MA on Friday August 21 at 10am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Brendan’s memory to the Bryan M. Webber Memorial Scholarship, c/o Xaverian Brothers High School, 800 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood, MA 02090.
