Arthur (Art) Hein,
of Mansfield, formerly of Dedham, MA, passed into eternal life on Monday, June 15, 2015 after living 83 years with integrity, passion & humor, plus courage which he displayed often as he gave cancer a run for its money.
Art was the son of Anna & Ed Hein & loving brother of Bob and the late Ed & Henry. He lived in New York until graduating from the School of Industrial Arts & enlisting in the US Army.
Art’s family was the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret (Micki) & his 4 daughters & their husbands: Lori Hein & Mike Belanger, Lisa & Chris Dempsey, Leslie & Shawn Sullivan, and Linda Gardiner & Eric Kramer. He was also predeceased by his infant son Paul. Art's grandchildren - Chris, Adam, Nick, Dana, Julia, Halle & Seth - will treasure their memories of PopPop. Art was also blessed with good friends & loving nieces, nephews & other relatives including Frank Kaiser who was more a brother than a brother-in-law.
Art enjoyed reading, woodcarving, singing, & golf. He was a creative director for 30 years before deciding to leave the corporate world to work as a handyman. In retirement, he worked at Lost Brook Golf Club – a dream job, combining his gift of being a “people-person” & his love of golf.
Family & friends are welcome to a service celebrating Art's life on Saturday, June 20 at 2:00pm at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick St, Norwood. Interment of ashes will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran World Relief, PO Box 17061, Baltimore, MD 21298 or Melanoma Research Alliance Foundation, 1101 New York Ave NW, Ste. 620, Washington, DC 20005.
