Theresa (Alongi) Coscia,
of Quincy, died Sunday, May 31st at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 81. Mrs. Coscia was the loving wife of the late Elpidio "Al" Coscia.
Born in Aragona, Sicily on November 4, 1933, Mrs. Coscia was the daughter of the late Raimondo and Angelina (Salamone) Alongi. She was raised and educated in Quincy and was a seamstress by trade years ago.
Mrs. Coscia was a very charitable person and was a member of the Stella Del Nord (Ladies Lodge) Sons of Italy and the St. John's Women's Club.
Mrs. Coscia is the loving mother of Salvatore of Quincy, Raymond and his wife Lauren of Quincy, Nancy Klock and her husband Andrew of Hingham and Enrico and his wife Christine of Quincy. She was the beloved grandmother of Kristin Koha, Jessica West, Justin Coscia and Alexander Coscia and great-grandmother of Joshua, James, Cole, Kai and Harper. Mrs. Coscia was also the sister of the late Damiano Alongi.
Her funeral will be from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Thursday June 4 at 9am. Followed by a funeral Mass in St. John's Church, 44 School St., Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-8pm. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
