Jeanne C. Farinella,
88, a longtime resident of Mansfield died Friday, March 20th at the Serenity Hill Nursing Center in Wrentham after a brief illness. Mrs. Farinella was the wife of the late Anthony C. Farinella of Mansfield who died June 9, 2001 at the age of 82. Mr. Farinella was one of the family co-owners of the popular Mansfield Clothing Store Sannie's until his retirement and the store's closing in 1991.
Mrs. Farinella was born in Ocala, FL. on July 2, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Buford W. & Bessie (Paulk) Chambers. She lived in Williston FL and Tifton, GA until returning to Florida and graduating from High School in Williston in 1943. She was employed by the United States Navy at the Jacksonville, FL Navy Yard where she met her husband, then a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Naval Reserve. They married in 1945 and relocated to Mansfield following the end of World War II.
Mrs. Farinella is survived by her son Mark M. Farinella, Assistant Sports Editor & Patriot's Beat Writer of The Sun Chronicle in Attleboro. She was the sister of the late Buford W. Chambers Jr. A Homemaker, Mrs. Farinella enjoyed gardening, landscaping and maintaining her collection of vintage phonograph records.
Arrangements are being made by the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street in Mansfield. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Farinella's beloved Jack Russell Terrier "Sweetie" to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, 175 Fruit Street, Mansfield, MA 02048.
