Christopher Joseph Chick,
48, of Mansfield passed away peacefully on the evening of December 31, 2014 surrounded by the love, care and comfort of his family following a courageous battle with brain cancer, through which he demonstrated the kind of strength, bravery and dignity so rarely seen nowadays.
Born October 7, 1966, he was raised in Medford and Wareham, graduating Wareham High School class of 1984. Chris served his country with honor in the U.S. Army from 1984 – 1986, serving in Alaska, and was a qualified M-16 Sharpshooter. Following his service, he enrolled in the North Bennett Street School, Boston, where he learned his craft of jewelry making and working with gold. Following graduation, he worked for many years as a talented Goldsmith and jewelry maker in his family’s jewelry store, A.J. Marks of Wareham.
Chris was a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan and car enthusiast. He was also an experienced fisherman, and greatly enjoyed his time fishing, however his happiest times were those spent with his loving family.
He was the devoted husband of Lisa (Iula) Chick. Loving and amazing father of Demetria M. Chick of Attleboro, Claudia M. Chick, Talia M. Chick and Joseph C. Chick, all of Mansfield. Proud Grandfather to Demi’s son, Dominic Christopher Spolidoro. Cherished son of Julia I. (Littleton) Chick of Buzzards Bay and the late Charles J. Chick. Dear brother of Mark J. Chick and his wife Sarah of Sagamore Beach, Jonathan Chick and wife Gillian also of Sagamore Beach, and Matthew Chick and wife Mary of Natick. Son-in-Law of Francis Iula, Jr. and wife Sharon of Wareham and Margaret Iula of Walpole. Brother-in-Law of Francis Iula, III and wife Suzanne of Peabody and Bryan Iula of New York. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held Wednesday, January 7th at9:00am from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St, Mansfield, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St, Mansfield. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield. Visiting Hours Tuesday January 6th from5:00—9:00pm at the funeral home.
