Elsa (Salvatore) Marella,
of Quincy, passed away Thursday, September 25th at Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Quincy. She was the beloved wife of the late Rocco F. Marella.
Born In Italy on May 8, 1920, she was the loving daughter of the late Biagio & Theresa (D’Angelo) Salvatore.
Mrs. Marella worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Industry for many years. She loved traveling, knitting, crafts, fashion, cooking & entertaining. She was a member of St. Mary’s Seniors Group and the Stella Del Nord (Ladies Lodge of Sons of Italy).
Mrs. Marella was the loving mother of Madelyn “Sandra” Magee of Braintree, Cherished grandmother of Lissa Hanson & her husband James of Plymouth, Michael Magee & his wife Stacey of FL and great-grandmother of David Hanson of NYC, Elizabeth Hanson of Chicago, Arianna Magee of LA, Laura and Brian Champagne, both of RI, and Kane Rowell of FL. She was the dear sister of Mario Salvatore & his wife Maryann of Quincy and sister-in-law of Ann Marella of Braintree and Wanda Salvatore of Norwell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marella’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Hancock Park for the exceptional care she received during her stay.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Tuesday September 30 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
