William A. (Bill) Regan, Jr.,
of Mansfield, formerly of Dorchester, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 10th at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich. He was 86 years old and the Loving husband of Katherine (Taylor) Regan for over 62 years.
William served as an MP in the US Army during Peacetime. He worked for the New Haven/Conrail Railroad for 44 years. He served as president of the TWU Local 1019, for many years. He was a member of the Foxboro Knights of Columbus and served as president of the Mansfield Fish & Game. In addition to being a dedicated family man, William was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his children Timothy and his wife Katherine of Mansfield, Kathleen Quirk and her husband Michael of Erie, PA, Phyllis Cavaleri and her husband Joseph of Randolph, William of Mansfield, Patricia of Mansfield, and Donna (McDowell) and her husband Michael of Clearwater, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph Cavaleri & Jennifer Cavaleri of Randolph, Melissa Wieczorek & Michael Quirk of Erie, PA, Timothy Regan of Mansfield, Kelly Regan of S. Boston, Bridget Regan & Caitlin Regan of Mansfield, Brandon McDowell of Clearwater FL and his great-grandchildren Joseph Cavaleri of Randolph, Tyler Quirk and Rilan Wieczorek, both of Erie, PA and his sisters Dorothy Labbe of Stoughton and Phyllis Schiavone & her husband Emil of Ponte Verde, FL. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents William and Lena (Marquette) and his brother Frances.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral home, 115 N. Main Street in Mansfield on Thursday, August 14 at 10am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
