Barbara J. (Garland) Litif,
Braintree, died Saturday, June 21st at the Colonial Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Weymouth. She was 83 years old and the former wife of the late George J. Litif.
Born in Quincy on July 26, 1930, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph & Beatrice (Martineau) Garland. Mrs. Litif was a graduate of Westbrook High School and St. Joseph's College, both in Maine. She taught at the Crochet Mountain School for the Deaf for several years prior to starting a family and worked as a Secretary at the South Shore Mental Health Center in Quincy for many years.
Mrs. Litif was the loving mother of Kristine Litif, Michele Lacey & her husband TJ, Marc Litif & his wife Jacqui, Carl Litif & his wife Leisha, Stephen Litif, Valerie Litif Carbone & her husband Nick and Darian Litif & his wife Dana. She was the cherished grandmother of Julia, Bridget, Patrick, Zachary, Rachel, Hannah, Jenna, Anissa, Carl Jr., Aiden, Darian Jr. and the dear sister of the late Robert Garland.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Wednesday, June 25 at 8:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 55 Commercial Street, Weymouth at 9:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
