Ida E. (Scarpellini) Grover,
of Norton, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Epoch Senior Healthcare of Norton. She was 88 years old and the beloved wife of the late Roland E. Grover who passed away September 13, 2001.
Born in Mansfield on May 17, 1925, she was the loving daughter of the late Attilio & Marietta (Panichi) Scarpellini. She lived in Mansfield most of her life until moving to Norton in 1970. She worked as a Caregiver at Country Haven Nursing Home and Foxboro State Hospital for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and most of all was a great cook and loved cooking her Italian meals for her loving family, friends & neighbors.
Mrs. Grover was the loving mother of Shirley Metrano & her husband Joseph and Donna Smith & her husband Paul all of Foxboro. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Metrano & his wife Tanya of N. Attleboro, Scott Smith & his wife Diane of York, ME, Shannon (Smith) Barbato of Foxboro and great-grandmother "Nonny" of Anthony Metrano & his girlfriend Danielle, Joseph Metrano of N. Attleboro and Cameron & Cole Smith of York, ME. She was the dear sister of Louise DeClemente and the late Jazziano Scarpellini, Gino Scarpellini, Alvidio Scarpellini and Viola Genesi. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main Street, Mansfield on Thursday, March 6th at 9:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) in Mansfield at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
