Everett M. Carpenter,
a lifelong resident of Mansfield, died peacefully at home on Monday February 17. He was 90. Mr. Carpenter was the loving husband of the late Jeanne (Welch) Carpenter.
Born in Mansfield on July 5, 1923, Mr. Carpenter was the son of the late Nathaniel M. and Mabelle A. (Carr) Carpenter. He was raised and educated in Mansfield. Mr. Carpenter bravely served in the Marine Corps in Okinawa and Ireland during WWII as a member of the Military Police. He later worked for the Mansfield Post Office as a Postal Clerk and also worked as a salesman for Mansfield Motors.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his three children, Patricia M. Turner and her spouse William of Mansfield, Lawrence W. Carpenter and his spouse Laura of Mansfield and Scott E. Carpenter and his spouse Christine of Lynnfield. He is the grandfather of Patrick Carpenter and his spouse Rebecca, Melissa and Thomas Carpenter, Susan Brouillard and her spouse Jason, Stephen Turner and his spouse Jennifer and Matthew, Mitchell and Jeanne Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter is also the great-grandfather of Madison, Olivia and Jake Carpenter and Sarah Brouillard.
Mr. Carpenter enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his car and his motor home. He was always a proud Marine. Semper Fi Dad!
Services and burial will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Everett's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Funeral arrangements are through the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St., Mansfield, MA.
