of Quincy, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Quincy Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old and the beloved husband of Ann (Gentile) DiBona for 62 years. Born in Quincy on June 2, 1928, he was the loving son of the late Daniel & Clara (Ciani) DiBona.
Mr. DiBona served in the United States Army during WWII. He was an Iron Worker for the former Antonelli Iron Works in Quincy. He was a lifetime member & past officer of the S. Quincy Bocce Club and former member of the Morrissette Post. He enjoyed golf, bowling and loved his time volunteering at St. Coletta's Day School in Braintree.
Mr. DiBona was the loving father of Diane Speranzo & her husband Richard and Daniel DiBona and his wife Andreina. He was the cherished grandfather of Dina McHugh & her husband Tom, Keri Luggelle & her husband Bill, Francesca DiBona & her finance Sebastian, Anthony DiBona and great-grandfather of Zachary, Zoe & TJ. He was the dear brother of Virginia Cantelli and Terry DiBona.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street in Quincy on Tuesday January 7 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery.
