Ernest J. Bettuchy,
of Quincy, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Royal Rehab. and Nursing Center in Braintree. He was 89. Mr. Bettuchy was the loving husband of the late Marie (Tammaro) Bettuchy.
Born in Quincy on September 4, 1924, Mr. Bettuchy was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Bailer) Bettuchy. He was the owner and operator of Ernie's Salvage of Quincy and Weymouth for 35 years. Mr. Bettuchy was also a former usher at St. Mary's Church in West Quincy for many years. He enjoyed playing cribbage at the Fore River Clubhouse in Quincy and was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
Mr. Bettuchy is survived by his sons, Ernest "Butch" Bettuchy and his companion Judy Cirillo of Weymouth and Richard Bettuchy and his wife GinnyAnn (Smith) of Quincy. He was the loving grandfather of Jennifer, Derek and Stacey and her companion Tommy and their son Aaron. Mr. Bettuchy is also survived by his extended family, Todd and Troy Cirillo and their families.
His funeral will be from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Friday Nov. 22 at 9am. Followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 95 Crescent St., West Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thurs. 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
