Alexander "Sandy" Vespaziani,
of Quincy died Tuesday October 29 at the South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland. He was 91 years old and the beloved husband of the late Lucy (Salvucci) Vespaziani.
Born in Quincy on March 28, 1922, he was the loving son of the late Oreste & Nancy (Fiaschetti) Vespaziani. Mr. Vespaziani served in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII where his unit earned a Presidential Citation for their courageous actions during the Battle of Iwo Jima and he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for the Veteran’s Services for both the City of Quincy & the Commonwealth of MA. After his retirement he did volunteer work for the Military Order of The Purple Heart & the Veteran’s Administration. He was a lifelong member of the Morissette Legion Post & member of the Braintree Gun Club. He enjoyed being with friends & family, reading, listening to music, painting & wood carving.
Mr. Vespaziani was the loving father of John Vespaziani of Quincy and the late Paul & Danny Vespaziani. He was the dear sister of the late Sophia Rizzo.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Saturday November 2 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Vespaziani’s memory to a charity of choice. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery.
