Arthur J. Papile,
of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the John Scott Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Braintree. He was 92 years old and the beloved husband of Mary A. (Dentino) Papile for 66 years.
Born in Quincy on July 19, 1921, he was the loving son of the late Joseph & Enzilita (DiLorenzo) Papile. Mr. Papile was a graduate of Quincy High School Class of 1939 and later attended the Quincy Shipyard Apprentice School.
Though a resident of Weymouth since 1952, Arthur's heart belonged to Quincy. He was a patriarch and proud member of the extensive Papile family. He had a passion for playing and coaching the Quincy Bears Neighborhood Football Team to two championships. He was a former member of the Torre Dei Passeri Club in Quincy. Unaware to himself, Arthur was a role model to us all because of his strong work ethic. He always worked two jobs to provide for his family and cherished the relationships he had with his friends at Gallagher News, Mammoth Mart, Building #19 & Ashmont Discount who all lovingly nick named him "Pappy".
Mr. Papile was the loving father of Michael Papile and his wife Linda, Richard Papile, Jack Papile and his wife Barbara, Larry Papile, Donna Pope and her husband Larry, Rosemary Lyons and her husband Rob and the late Elizabeth Smith. He was the cherished grandfather of 21, great-grandfather of 16 and the dear brother of Dorothy (Papile) Coletti of Quincy.
