Elizabeth A. (Coletti) DeLuca,
a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was 89 years old and the beloved wife of the late Francis B. DeLuca.
Born in Quincy on Christmas Day 1923, "Lizzie" was the loving daughter of the late Giacinta (DiBona) and Benedetto Coletti and the youngest of 8 siblings.
Mrs. DeLuca was a graduate of Quincy High School Class of 1941 and also the Wyndham Secretarial and Finishing School in Boston's Back Bay. She worked for many years in the business department of the Fore River Shipyard during World War II. Liz loved the comfort of her home and family, was an avid reader, a great cook and loved traveling throughout the United States with her late husband. She was a former summer resident of Pawtuckaway Lake in New Hampshire.
Mrs. DeLuca was the loving mother of Matthew P. DeLuca and his wife Carol Kilroy of Marshfield, Cynthia DeLuca of Quincy, Mark DeLuca and his wife Michele of Pembroke, Donna Picardi and her husband Jim of Virginia Beach, VA and her son-in-law Richard Sacchetti of Weymouth. She was the cherished grandmother of Jim Picardi, Michael Picardi & Frank Picardi, all of Virginia Beach, VA and Dr. Cara Sacchetti of Concord, NH. She was the dear sister of the late Joseph, Benedetto "Goody," Donato "Sam," Angelo “Shibby” Coletti, Mary DeStefano, Eva Tondini and Dorna Rose. She is also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Thursday, September 12 at 9:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
