Matilda (Patrignini) DeChellis,
a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Madonna Manor in North Attleboro. She was 97 years old and the beloved wife of the late Samuel "Sam" DeChellis.
Born in Mansfield on November 13, 1915, she was the loving daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa (Rossetti) Patrignini.
Mrs. DeChellis dedicated her life to being a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. Throughout her longevity she served many organizations, the Catholic Women’s Club, Foresters & Bowling Leagues to name just a few. She was a serious competitor and enjoyed bi-weekly card games and cooking fests with family and friends.
Mrs. DeChellis was the loving mother of Barbara May and her husband David of Norton, Edward DeChellis and his wife Elaine of Walpole, NH and Donald DeChellis of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 18, great-great grandmother of 2 and the dear sister of the late Orazio Patrignini and Viola Ferzoco.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield on Saturday, August 17 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street in Mansfield prior to Mass from 8:30-10am. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
