Mary A. (Volpe) Russo,
a lifelong resident of Quincy, died Friday, July 19th at home. She was 87 years old and the beloved wife of Edward Russo for 62 years.
Born in Quincy on May 8, 1926, she was the loving daughter of the late Domenic and Lena (Ritucci) Volpe. Mrs. Russo was a graduate of Quincy High School Class of 1945 and worked as a Secretary for the Quincy School Department for many years. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed extensive traveling, including many senior bus trips.
Mrs. Russo was the loving mother of Edward Russo of Plymouth, Shelley Moore and her husband Gary of Scituate and Janice Russo and her partner Gina Morse of Braintree. She was the cherished grandmother of Alex Russo, Raychel Russo and her fiancé Tyler, Gary Moore and his wife Kim and Laura Moore and her fiancé Andrew. She was the dear sister of Sammy Volpe of North Quincy.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street in Quincy on Tuesday July 23 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
