Leo "Danny" Chippola

Leo "Danny" Chippola, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 after a period of declining health, at Epoch Senior Health Care of Harwich. He was 91 years old and beloved husband of the late Margaret "Regina" (Bellew) Chippola.

Born in Mansfield on October 2, 1921, he was the loving son of the late Franco and Maria (Pizzi) Chippola.

Mr. Chippola left high school to serve in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific as a Gunners Mate. He married his beloved high school sweetheart on June 25, 1945 and went to work for the Mansfield Post Office as a letter carrier for many years until retiring to South Yarmouth, where they made many new friends. He was a talented carpenter working on home additions, furniture etc. He was a very generous man who helped many people and loved cars and animals.

Mr. Chippola was the loving father of Carole A. Rounds and her husband Arthur of Foxboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel A. Rounds and his wife Dina, Jacqueline E. Carroll and her husband Matt and great-grandfather of Daniel Arthur Jr., Jessica Regina, Jamie Lynn, John "Jack" Daniel Rounds and Kaitlin Eve & Sarah Elizabeth Carroll, all of Foxboro. He was the dear brother of the late Joseph Chippola, Jennie Sokoloski, Anne Duncan, Rose Sankey, Virginia Poirier and John Chippola.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main Street in Mansfield at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
