Wilma (Maurer) Carbonetti,
92, formerly of West Yarmouth and Mansfield, passed away at her home in Mashpee on Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Wilma was born in Clinton, Connecticut on June 12, 1920, to William and Emma (Scheuermann) Maurer. She graduated from Morgan High School in 1938. On April 6, 1942, she married the love of her life, Hugo A. Carbonetti, who passed away in 2005.
Wilma lived in Mansfield from 1942 until 1971. While raising her children, she was very active in the community, especially the Girl Scouts, and worked with her husband in their business, Carbonetti's Market. She was well known for hosting wonderful parties, serving delicious meals along with her beautifully decorated cakes and baked goods. After moving to West Yarmouth in 1971, Wilma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking adult education classes and perfecting her love of crafts. She was also employed at Bed and Bath and Jordan Marsh.
Wilma was the loving mother of four daughters: Anne Atkins and her husband Kenneth of North Hampton NH; Susan Carlone and her husband Gene of Durham NC; Jane Cardin and her husband Robert of Newnan GA; and Jean Sawicki and her husband Michael of Mashpee. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Wilma also leaves many caring nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Katherine Cettomai and two brothers, William and Robert Maurer.

Arrangements are being made by the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main Street in Mansfield. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday March 23 at St. Mary's Church 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield at 10:3am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
