Margaret (Chisholm) Barry,
of Quincy passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27th. She was 93 years old. She was the beloved wife of George J. Barry for 62 years.
Born on March 27, 1919 in Heatherton, Nova Scotia, she was the loving daughter of the late John C. and Mary (Bell) Chisholm. She was raised and educated in Nova Scotia and has resided in Quincy since 1949. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Bruins fan, never missing a game.
"Grammy" as she was affectionately called, was known for her desserts, homemade pizza and her love of playing cards. She never missed an opportunity to volunteer or lend a hand to family, friends or strangers alike. Most of all, Margaret will be remembered for her insatiable energy, determination, outstanding meals and great devotion to her family and friends.
Mrs. Barry was the loving mother of George F. Barry Jr of Chelmsford, MA and Tampa, FL, Lorraine Barry of Scituate, Wanda Barry Garcia of Tampa, FL and the late J. Michael Barry. She was the cherished grandmother of Marc Veneziano of Boston, Lauren Veneziano of Denver, CO and Lindsay Garcia of Tampa, FL. She was the dear sister of Theresa MacDougall of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Chrissie Chisholm of Heatherton, Nova Scotia, Betty Rousom of Ottawa, Ontario, Duncan Chisholm of St. Andrews, Nova Scotia and the late Anna MacPherson, Isabel Fulmek, Helen Chisholm and Donald Chisholm.
Memorial services will be held in the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street in Quincy, on Tuesday, September 4th from 5-8 PM. Family and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be private.
