Warren O. "Sonny" Sines,
of Quincy, passed away Friday, June 15th at Quincy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. He was the beloved husband of Virginia (Tocci) Sines.
Born in Quincy on October 6, 1934, he was the loving son of the late Frank and Jennie (Pratt) Sines. Mr. Sines was a graduate of Massasoit College with a degree in Fire Sciences and served as a Fire Fighter in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He was Fire Fighter for the Quincy Fire Department from which he retired after 30 years of service in 1994. Mr. Sines was the first recipient of the Roll of Merit Award. He was a member of Local 792 IAFF, QFRA and the Cyril P. Morrisette Post 294. He was a past member of the South Quincy Social Club and the Braintree Moose Lodge 413.
Mr. Sines was the loving father of Warren O. Sines Jr. of Quincy, Joseph Kidney and his wife Krystal of Brockton, Daryl Koss of E. Boston and Darren Koss of Quincy. He was the cherished grandfather of Brandon and Madelyn, dear brother of Beverly Kidney of Quincy and the late Helen Stetler, Frank Sines Jr., Richard Sines and Edwin Sines and son-in-law of Alba Tocci of Braintree. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street in Quincy on Tuesday June 19 from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
