Richard "Rob" Robinson,
of Mansfield, died Sunday, February 26 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a long illness. He was 75 years old. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Poirier) Robinson for 36 years.
Born in Dighton on October 1, 1936, he was the loving son of the late Willis H. and Barbara (Goff) Robinson. Mr. Robinson was raised and educated in Taunton before moving to Mansfield in 1973.
He was a Tractor Trailer Driver and Warehouse Worker for the Foxboro Co. prior to retiring in 1987 after 28 years of service.
He was an avid car enthusiast and was very proud of his custom 1946 Ford which he loved to take to cruise nights and antique car shows. He loved traveling with his wife and close friends Lee & Patricia Corbett of Davenport, Florida. He enjoyed camping and fishing at Scusset Beach, hunting, bowling and the companionship of his dear dog Pugly.
Mr. Robinson was the loving father of David Robinson of North Quincy and the late Richard R. Robinson, Jr. and Penny J. Bollman. He was the dear brother of Barbara Carter of California, Douglas Fleck and his wife Cynthia of Maine, and the late Lois Motta and Avis Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main Street in Mansfield on Thursday March 1 at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
