Assunta "Sue" (Papia) Marella

Assunta "Sue" (Papia) Marella, a lifelong resident of Quincy died Saturday, February 11 at the Rice Eventide Nursing Home in Quincy. She was 88 years old. She was the beloved wife of John Marella for 67 years.

Born in Quincy on September 3, 1923, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Vella) Papia. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and worked at Roy's Flowers and Howard Johnsons, formerly of Quincy.

Mrs. Marella was the loving mother of Marie Ward and her husband Kier of Weymouth, Grace Keaveny and her husband Brian of Salem, New Hampshire and Angela Kemp and her husband Alan of Middleboro. She was the cherished grandmother of Paul Marrone of Raynham, Dean Marrone , his wife Elyse and children Alex and Joshua of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Melissa Marrone of Weymouth, Christine Conover, her husband William and children Ryan and Sean of Somers Point, New Jersey, Susan Keaveny of London, England, David Keaveny, his wife Bryn and their daughter Keira of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Theresa Bell , her husband Ryan and children Lila and Kenzy of Mesa, Arizona, John Kemp of Plymouth, Jason Kemp of Quincy, Peter Kemp and his fiance Jill Ortiz, of Quincy and Andrew Kemp of Middleboro. She was the dear sister of the late Steven Papia, Ralph Papia, Rosario Papia and John Papia.

Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Friday, February 17 at 9:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
