Thomas J. Delaney ,
of Quincy, died Tuesday, December 27 at the Charlwell House in Norwood. He was 79 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria A. Fellaccio.
Born in Boston on August 4, 1932, he was the loving son of the late Thomas J. and Marion C. (Ball) Delaney.
Mr. Delaney was raised and educated in Boston and spent most of his life in Sharon prior to moving to Quincy. He was a Repair Lineman for the M.B.T.A. for over 14 years and was the former owner of T.J.'s Red Carpet Restaurant of Quincy. He was a lifetime member of the Savin Hill Yacht Club and a member of the IBEW Local 104 for 25 years. Mr. Delaney served in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
Mr. Delaney was the loving father of Maureen Manarolis, Kathleen Compston, Ellen, Michael, Stephen, John and Elizabeth Delaney and the late Thomas E. Delaney. Cherished grandfather of 14, 3 great-grandchildren and the late Gloria Compston. He was the dear brother of Sue Lydon, Peggy McFarland and the late Doris McLaughlin, Edward and Francis Delaney.
Funeral From the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Friday, December 30 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm. Interment in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
