Robert A. Sheehan,
of Mansfield died Tuesday February 8 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury. He was 63 years old. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Galanti) Sheehan for 42 years.
Born in Attleboro on September 5, 1947, he was the loving son of the late Philip and Eva (Beaulieu) Sheehan. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School Class of 1965, attended the University of Indiana and later went on to receive his degree from Boston University. Mr. Sheehan served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War serving in Turkey. He worked as head of the Food Stamp Program in Attleboro, for 3A Trucking Co. in Westboro and has been a Bus Driver for the Michael Connolly Bus Co. for the past 10 years. He was a devoted and loving owner of 4 Bassett Hounds over the years and enjoyed his time as a Coach, coaching for the Little League Baseball in Mansfield.
Mr. Sheehan was the loving father of Robert F. Sheehan in Providence, RI. He was the dear brother of Anita Kelley in Mansfield, Son in Law of Margaret (Dei) Galanti of Mansfield and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield on Saturday February 12 at 8am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) in Mansfield. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Sheehan's memory to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048 or the Mansfield VFW, 88 Chilson Ave, Mansfield, MA 02048.
