Margaret (Avitabile) Tantillo,
of Quincy died Wednesday January 19 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy. She was 94 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Tantillo for over 60 years.
Born in Braintree on March 18, 1916, she was the loving daughter of the late Antonio and Elvira (Antonucci) Avitabile. She was raised and educated in Braintree.
Mrs. Tantillo started working at Blue Ridge Farm in Braintree, which was owned by her father, as a young girl. She then went to work as a Shipfitter at the Hingham Shipyard and then the Fore River Shipyard during WWII. She then went on to work as a Special Machine Operator in the Garment Industry for over 30 years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Union and St. John's Senior Citizens Club in Quincy.
Mrs. Tantillo, one of fifteen children, is survived by her sisters, Adeline Naclerio and Yola Bonner, both of Braintree. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Monday, January 24 at 10:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
