Harry F. Melfie

Harry F. Melfie, of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield, died Tuesday January 11 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro surrounded by his loving family. He was 93 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose L. (Laudisio) Melfie for 60 years.

Born in Mansfield, where he lived most of his life until moving to North Attleboro 15 years ago, on October 1, 1917, he was the loving son of the late Domenic and Isabella (Falotico) Melfie.

He was a Barber at the Sunrise Barber Shop in Mansfield and was an employee of Cleveland Twist & Drill, formerly of Mansfield where he retired in 1979 after 38 years of service. Mr. Melfie was a member of the Merchants Bowling League where he was awarded many trophies. He was a member of the KOC in Mansfield. After his retirement he spent his summers on Cape Cod and his winters in Florida. He enjoyed gardening and most especially spending time with his loving children and grandchildren.

Mr. Melfie was the loving father of Mary T. Sabatos and her husband Ronald of Milan, OH, Isabelle A. Combis and her husband Paul of Mansfield, Harry D. Melfie and his wife Judy of Norton, Sheila L. Buck and her husband William of Mansfield and James G. Melfie of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Mary Stevenson of Canton and the late Madeline Garland, Angelina Vicino, Antoinette Silenzi, Fred Melfie, Eleanor Gambale and Joseph Melfie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements being made by the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 No. Main Street, Mansfield, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield on Friday January 14 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday am prior to Mass from 8:30-10:00am. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
