Hiram Dexter Fuller III,
of Mansfield died Monday January 3 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was 79 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa C. (Grise) Fuller for 49 years.
Born in Norwood on November 2, 1931, he was the loving son of the late Hiram Dexter Fuller II and Marion (Luce) Fuller. He was a graduate of Foxboro High School Class of 1951.
Mr. Fuller enlisted in the National Guard at age 15 and served for 8 years as an Armorer. He was an expert sharpshooter/marksman. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked in Construction as a Cement Finisher for the John Mutch Co. of Norwood and then later for the Foxboro Company (Invensys) where he retired after 25 years of service. Like his father, he was an avid historian and collector. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He possessed a passion for his country, military antiques, Wagner Symphonies, Western movies and most especially his wife Theresa. Mr. Fuller was a lifetime member of the American legion and the N.R.A. He was a member of G.O.A.L. and a former celebrant of St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Fuller was the loving father of Catherine M. Bellavance and her fiance James D'Aprile of Webster, Thomas E. Fuller and his wife Edna of Foxboro, Janet M. Potvin and her companion Perry DiMascio of Norton, James D. Fuller and his fiancee Lynda Johnson of N. Attleboro and the late Michael D. Fuller. He was the dear brother of Sarah L. Souza and her husband Frank of Foxboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Leah, Alyssa, Christine, Annie, Eddie, Michelle, Justin and Nicole and great-grandfather of Emma and Ainsley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield on Tuesday January 11 at 10am. Followed by a Graveside Service at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
