James A. Tuffo of Quincy died Monday August 16 at the Sunrise Assisted Living in Braintree. He was 93 years old. He was the husband of Alma (Salvucci) Tuffo.
Born on April 16, 1917 in Hyde Park, he was the son of the late Gabriele and Emanuela (Passero) Tuffo. Mr. Tuffo served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a General Contractor and Owner of the American Home Remodeling Co. of Dorchester. He enjoyed watching and investing in the Stock Market, dancing and playing the harmonica.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Tuffo is survived by his children, Laurie Lopresti and her husband Chuck of Braintree, Gina Oriola and her husband Greg of Braintree and John Tuffo and his wife Patty of Braintree. He was the grandfather of Alex, Jacqueline, Chuck, Vanessa, Troy and Zack and great-grandfather of Mia. Mr. Tuffo is also survived by his two brothers Joseph and Gabe Tuffo.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Friday August 20 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 95 Crescent Street, Quincy at 10:15am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours are Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery.
